Job Description

Type: Summer Contract

Hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday (Flexible) 37.5 hours per week

Compensation: $18:00 per hour

You will be a crucial member of the team maintaining our beautiful Windfields estate. You will help to preserve Ontario’s history by ensuring our buildings are well maintained. Additional responsibilities include logistics support for our various Film, TV and Digital programs.

This position offers a diverse range of hands-on responsibilities.


  • Assist the Director in the management of the premises and equipment
  • Perform regular inspections of the buildings and building systems, identify deficiencies, and determine corrective action
  • Assist the General Carpenter/Renovator with special projects
  • Liaise with service providers
  • Respond promptly and courteously to facility service requirements (office moves, room setups, event services, etc.)
  • Maintain the facilities tools and equipment
  • Maintain/Update inventory list
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


  • Enrolled in or completed a building maintenance or related program at the post-secondary level
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including: bending, lifting, use of ladders, hand tools, and climbing stairs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Must be able to work independently and follow through on tasks
  • Basic Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of building and fire codes, health and safety regulations is an asset
