Flexible Start Date: May 30, 2022 from June 13, 2022

End Date: (9) weeks from the start date

Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Hours of Work: Monday through Thursday (30 hours per week).

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Lead, Creative Impact, Revenue, and in collaboration with other team members, the Development Assistant, will support all fundraising activities across the department, including but not limited to, prospect research, donor/partner relations, assist the department with prospect research, campaigns, special projects, event assistance and database work.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of fundraising activities and campaigns for Individual Giving, Corporate donations, external relations and events
  • Supports identification and qualification of prospects and donors to support CFC programs and initiatives
  • Assists with donor/partner relations and stewardship – including reporting, communications and engagement
  • Performs research to discover leads, market trends and partnership opportunities
  • Ensures timely acknowledgement of contributions and tracking revenue, working with Senior Development Officer(s)
  • Updates Salesforce database to accurately capture donor information and assist with gift processing
  • Prepares regular reports for the Executive Lead and other senior staff as required
  • Assists in drafting fundraising emails, web, sales materials and other relevant correspondence
  • Supports special projects and strategic initiatives as required
  • Provides support to the department on related special events (i.e. event coordination and execution)
  • Performs general administrative duties, including organization, best-practices, filing and data entry
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall department goals

Qualifications

  • Related Community College or Bachelor’s Degree, or working towards/equivalent experience and interest
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Deadline driven
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong research, problem solving, and brainstorming skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with databases (Salesforce) and social media platforms
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Experience and interest in fundraising, marketing and/or external relations as a career choice preferred
