Associate Director, Canadian Film Centre's Media Lab
Amy Davies has more than 10 years’ experience addressing business challenges and providing support in digitally-led program strategy, stewardship and brand elevation in key industries of advertising, film, TV and technology. As Associate Director of the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab, she supports design, development and implementation of all digital programming for the Canadian Film Centre. Prior to joining CFC, as Director of Content for Achilles Media, she led the department that championed several landmark initiatives, including the Banff World Media Festival, Shaw Showrunner Program, History Makers, nextMEDIA, and the Canadian Innovation Exchange. Her previous roles include Emap, working across a roster of the UK's leading media publications, including Broadcast Magazine, Screen International and IMM Europe, as well as Manager of Public Relations for telecommunications social network, Wireless World Forum. In 2012, she co-founded InsideDigital.org, a platform to support marketers in navigating digital channels and technology.
Davies serves on the board of the Massey Centre, a Children's Mental Health Centre, has spoken at numerous media and entertainment events, including Prime Time, the Vancouver International Film Festival, Webfest, Ryerson Entertainment Conference, nextMEDIA and NATPE, and is currently completing a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at OCAD University.
