Principal, Creative Strategist, Social Lab
After two decades working at and leading social media strategy development at global PR, advertising and digital agencies, David founded Social Lab in 2014 to bring the best of these disciplines together. By forming nimble teams that move at the speed of social, but are backed up by senior-level strategic and analytical capabilities, Social Lab helps businesses achieve their business goals through social.
Based in his hometown of Toronto, David brings a multi-disciplinary background to the world of connected brands. A former PR man and corporate spokesperson, David’s blend of communications skills ensures the digital experiences created are consumer-centric and social at the core.
An early adopter of social media's integration with marketing, David started his davejones.ca blog in 2005 and co-founded and co-hosted Inside PR podcast in 2006. He's developed social media marketing initiatives for major brands, including Visa, War Child Canada, Molson, Nike, Canadian Olympic Team, PepsiCo, Motorola, Bayer, HP and Infiniti. He has taught social media planning skills to communications staff within the Government of Ontario and speaks regularly at social media events and conferences. He volunteers on the advisory committee of Toronto's Humber College Bachelor of PR program and is a member of the communications committee for Golf Canada.
