Alison Phillips is a Design Leader and Consultant who creates innovative products, envisions new brands and delivers holistic experiences for organizations. Alison takes an insights-led, user centered approach to uncover opportunities, and drives innovation through an iterative design process. Established in 2016, her Toronto based studio specializes in Industrial Design, UX/UI Design, Brand Identity, Environments, Merchandising and Strategy. Clients range from large global corporations to local start-ups.
Throughout her career, Alison has built and led multi-disciplinary design and business teams. In 2010, Alison joined BlackBerry, serving as Managing Director & Global Head of Industrial Design through 2015, where she was responsible for the look and feel of all devices and accessories. She was the Head of Merchandising for fashion retailer Aritzia during a period of rapid expansion and a strategic US launch. As its founding member, Alison was instrumental in shaping the modern lifestyle brand Caban, Club Monaco’s then innovative home department store chain, which was acquired by Polo Ralph Lauren.
Phillips holds over 100 patents. Her work has been featured in many publications, and has been recognized globally with a Clio, Good Design, 3 iF Design, and 6 Red Dot Awards, including in 2015 "The Best of the Best" Award. She has a Bachelor of Industrial Design from Carleton University.
