Congratulations to PARKDALE, which received two awards at the Women in Film and Television Vancouver Film Fest this weekend. The film was awarded the "First Place Legacy" award, as well as the "Performance in a Short" award for actress Sara Brynn Foster.

In PARKDALE, an unexpected phone call sends two sisters out into the inner city streets as they try to escape another stint in foster care. Over the course of the night, their journey reveals the community of their gritty neighbourhood, and how easily innocence can be lost. PARKDALE takes an intimate look at the complex territory of the inner city, where the right choices aren't always easy, or obvious.

PARKDALE was created through the CFC Short Dramatic Film Program, and is directed by Lisa Jackson ('10), produced by Lauren Grant ('06) and Lori Lozinski ('05), written by Lisa Jackson and Bonnie Fairweather ('06), and edited by Kye Meechan ('08).
