MAKING CANADA'S TALENT SHINE 'BOREALIS'
A Night in Celebration of Canadian Creative Excellence
Beneath a magnificent display of northern lights and shimmering stars, CFC will honour Canadian Creative Excellence at its 16th Annual CFC Gala & Auction ‘Borealis', taking place Thursday, February 11th at Toronto's Kool Haus.
Presented by Cineplex Entertainment, E1 Entertainment, RBC Capital Markets, Holt Renfrew,Tiffany & Co., Joe Fresh, American Airlines and MacLaren McCann, this year‘s Annual CFC Gala & Auction ‘Borealis' celebrates creative excellence with a luminous evening of magnetic Canadian storytelling, spirited entertainment and gourmet dining, all with a northern flair.
Guests will be treated to an exclusive evening in support of the Canadian Film Centre's training and production programs in film, television and new media; dining on a four-course gourmet dinner prepared by Presidential Gourmet Fine Catering, with the accompaniment of fine wines and spirits, courtesy of Jackson-Triggs Vintners, Moet & Chandonand Belvedere Vodka.
The evening will be hosted by Mary Walsh, accomplished actress, comedian, political satirist, social activist and the winner of over 30 Gemini awards for writing and performing. Live entertainment will include a performanceby musical powerhouse Divine Brown. Guests of the 2010 Gala & Auction will enjoy the décor of the Kool Haus by Jeffry Roick of McNabb Roick and are invited to purchase tickets for the chance to win one of three grand prizes of luxurious items (over $26,000 value) courtesy of Tiffany & Co.
Highlights of the Live Auction include a spectacular getaway to Amanyara, a secluded beach retreat in the Turks and Caicos Islands, an extravagant Holt Renfrew $10,000 shopping spree, an exclusive trip for two to attend the 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part one' world premiere in London, England and a three-night escape to Los Angeles or London, England to witness cinematic history as the third installment of Twilight, the world's most popular vampire stories, come to life with ‘Eclipse' plus much more.
The Silent Auction features an array of luxury goods and experiences including exceptional offerings by: Burberry, Cole Haan, David Yurman, Valentino, Hugo Boss, Kenneth Jay Lane, Constantine Interiors, Avenue Health Centre, Michael Kors, Links of London, Sarah Richardson Design Inc, Angus Glen Golf Club, Sisley, Ddavis Objets and TELUS.
The Annual Gala & Auction is one of CFC's most significant fundraising initiatives. All proceeds from the Gala directly help fund CFC's highly respected training programs in film, television and new media.
