Applications Now Open for IDEABOOST Accelerator Cohort 8

Posted: Feb 12, 2019

The
Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab (CFC Media Lab) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for Cohort 8 of the IDEABOOST Accelerator, which will run from April to July 2019.

The Accelerator is a Toronto-based four-month bootcamp for up to six startups from the IDEABOOST-Network Connect program. CFC Media Lab invites technology-based startups to apply, with special consideration given this year to those in the immersive media space, with a balanced business approach to achieving gender equity, inclusiveness and diversity.

Powered by a team of experienced staff, mentors, executives and investors, the Accelerator is highly customized to meet the specific needs of each cohort’s participating cluster of companies. Network Connect companies can apply
here. The deadline is Monday, March 11, 2019.

Shortlisted companies will be notified shortly after the deadline and be invited to participate in the Live Pitch Day on Tuesday, March 27, 2019. A final group of companies will be selected for the cohort based on the Live Pitch Day, and then the Accelerator will commence on Thursday, April 11, 2019 and conclude on Friday, July 5, 2019.

Companies who are interested in applying but are not yet a member of Network Connect should reach out to
Lise Bourguet, Program Specialist, lbourguet@cfccreates.com as soon as possible to discuss their next steps.

See what these Cohort 7 founders had to say about their experience in the program in 2018:

“The IDEABOOST Accelerator has a very small cohort size. Typically four, five, maybe six companies at most are involved simultaneously, which means that you really get an opportunity to get hands-on, focused feedback and mentorship. You also get the opportunity to establish and develop relationships with the other cohort companies.”

“The quality of mentorship and the network that I came away with are both extremely valuable to the business. They really honed my thinking, challenged me on multiple levels, and accelerated our progress.”
