DIRECTOR JOINS ‘22 CHASER' CREATIVE TEAM
CFC Features is pleased to announce that Manon Briand has come on board as director of the feature film 22 CHASER, currently in development with the CFC, joining writer Jeremy Boxen (02) and producers Brent Barclay('99) and Tracey Boulton ('99).
Manon Briand is an award-winning Quebec-based filmmaker. Manon is a recipient of the Prix Claude-Jutra/OFQJ for “Most Promising Filmmaker” at the Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québécois. Her segment in the omnibus feature COSMOS, produced by Roger Frappier, led to her writing and directing the feature film, 2 SECONDES, winner of multiple awards at the Montreal World Film Festival, including Best Director and Best Canadian Film. Manon's acclaimed film CHAOS AND DESIRE also won the Public Prize for the Best Canadian Film at the Montreal World Film Festival.
“22 CHASER is a special script for CFC and a great deal of consideration went into choosing the best possible director for the piece,” said CFC Features Director/Executive Producer, Justine Whyte. “We're delighted to work with Manon whose unique directing style will add even more layers to an already rich and ambitious project.”
22 CHASER is a blue-collar drama about a desperate tow truck driver who, on the worst day of his life, risks everything in order to become king of the road.
Development of the film will continue over the next few months.
Upcoming Deadline | January 29, 2010.
