Award-Winning Actress Kim Cattrall to Mentor CFC Actors Conservatory Residents

TORONTO, October 19, 2011 – CFC (Canadian Film Centre) is pleased to welcome celebrated actress Kim Cattrall as a mentor for the CFC Actors Conservatory, Canada's first professional level training program for on-screen acting talent. In her role as a mentor, Cattrall will share her expertise with the next generation of actors through master classes and workshops.

“As a longtime supporter of the Canadian film industry, I think it's so important to nurture and champion our local talent,” says Cattrall. “I'm really looking forward to mentoring the residents of the CFC Actors Conservatory and helping them push their careers further.”

The CFC Actors Conservatory is designed to inspire actors and enhance their artistic and technical skills in film and television with hopes to expand their creative and business relationships. It encourages them to push boundaries in order to be launched as confident, compelling performers. The Conservatory is designed to provide actor participants with continuous individual mentorship, while also learning from the best in the world through master classes and workshops.

Cattrall has an illustrious career that spans film, television and the stage. She has worked with such prominent filmmakers as Roman Polanski, Brian De Palma and John Boorman. Cattrall's critically-acclaimed role as Samantha Jones in the popular HBO series “Sex and the City” earned her a Golden Globe award, two Screen Actors Guild awards and five Emmy nominations. Cattrall has also had a renowned career in the Canadian entertainment industry, appearing in numerous film and television roles. She is the recipient of Genie and Gemini award nominations and was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame. She is currently earning rave reviews for her performance in Noël Coward'sPrivate Lives at the Royal Alexandra Theatre starring opposite Paul Gross.
