Adam Ivers joined Omnicom Media Group’s Highway Entertainment in early 2007 as Executive Vice President where he was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of Highway’s Canadian business. Rooted in OMG’s extensive media experience and working side-by-side with sister media buying agencies, OMD and PHD, Highway operates in the areas of program distribution, program funding and the development of bespoke media related opportunities that benefit both advertising clients and the media. Highway is also rapidly expanding its capabilities in the areas of television development, production and branded-content creation drawing from Ivers’ prior experience as a broadcast network programmer. In 2010, Ivers was promoted to President and CEO of Highway charged with the task of growing the company on an international basis.Prior to joining Highway, Ivers spent six years as Vice President, Programming for CanWest Global Broadcasting where he was responsible for all foreign content acquisitions and programming the network schedules across Canada. At CanWest, Ivers was responsible for the acquisition of some key programs such as House, 24, Prison Break, The Apprentice (all Top 20 shows at the time) and the NFL’s Super Bowl. His extensive relationships in Hollywood coupled with his passion for negotiating ‘deals’ lead to many successes and enduring hits for CanWest.Ivers also has a diverse background in sports television having been both an Agent and content distributor at International Management Group Canada (IMG) and the Head of Acquisitions for The Sports Network (TSN), Canada’s number one sports broadcaster.Ivers graduated in 1989 from Boston University’s College of Communication with a B.Sc. in Broadcasting and Film. He began his career in Los Angeles in film production having worked as a Production Assistant on such movies as The Mambo Kings and Under Siege. A passionate auto enthusiast, driving instructor, Ivers is a proud father of two teenaged children, Andrew and Kylie.
