Neil Tabatznik was born in South Africa and emigrated to the UK in 1972 and immigrated to Canada in 1993. He holds a BA from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, a Dip CD from the University of Manchester, an MEd from the University of Manchester, and Bar Parts I and II College of Law London, England. Tabatznik practiced as a Barrister at the Bar of England and Wales for 15 years, specializing primarily in criminal defence advocacy. Formerly, Chairman of Genpharm Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Toronto between 1993 and 1999, in 2000 he founded Arrow Canada and was formerly Director of the Arrow Group of Companies, consisting of Oryx Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Cobalt Pharmaceuticals Inc. He is Chairman of Blue Ice Capital and Blue Ice Pictures, founder of the Blue Ice Hot Docs Documentary Film Fund, and owner of The Bloor-Hot Docs Theatre. Tabatznik was executive producer on the films Shake Hands with the Devil, The Bang Bang Club, Fanie Fourie's Lobola, Romeo and Juliet and Nebraska.
