The applications for all four labs will be due in January 2012. Application forms will be available online in November.

When does the program start and end?

How much does the program cost?
The tuition is $5,500.

Are there scholarships?
If you are accepted into the program, you will be eligible for a scholarship of up to the full tuition amount, based on your financial need. We will also provide you with support and resources for other scholarship opportunities from across Canada.

How many residents are accepted?
5 applicants are selected for each of the Producers’, Writers’, and Directors’ Labs, and 4 for the Editors’ Lab.

Can I speak to alumni about the program?
If you are selected for an interview, you will be given the contact of a recent alumnus to answer any questions you have and who will speak candidly about the program.

How do I know if my application has been received?
You will receive an email confirmation within one week of the deadline. If there is anything missing from your application, we will let you know at that time as well.

How does the selection process work?
Every application that we receive is reviewed by a pre-selection committee. From there a short-list is made of applicants who will move forward to the interview stage. There is a selection committee that will lead the interviews and then deliberate and make the final decisions on who will be accepted into the program.

How will I know if I am invited for an interview?
Whether or not you will be moving forward to an interview, you will be notified by email.

How does the interview process work for applicants who live outside of Ontario?
When possible, the CFC will set up in-person interviews for applicants based outside of Ontario. At the very least, a video conference will be arranged.

When are interviews held?
The interview schedule depends on the availability of the selection committee, but they will be within the months of March and April.

Will my reels be returned to me?
If you require your reels to be returned, please include a self addressed stamped envelope with your application and they will be returned to you when the selection process is complete.

Do you offer feedback to applicants who do not get accepted?
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide feedback to every applicant, however we are able to offer feedback to those invited for an interview.

Can I work while attending the program?
The program is full time and intensive, running up to 7 days a week. It is recommended that you do not work during the program.

Am I eligible for the Short Dramatic Film Program?
Only residents who have just completed the Cineplex Entertainment Film Program are eligible for the SDF program.

Are there tours of the CFC?
