Established in 1994 as a means to recognize those individuals whose commitment and contribution to CFC’s productions and training, this year marks the 15th year of Playback's sponsorship of the CFC Payback Awards.
Congratulations to the following recipients:
 |
ANNE MARIE MURPHY – President Eastern Script Inc |
Anne has been working with our filmmakers for over 5 years, coming in yearly as a guest to enlighten our producers, directors and writers on the importance of clearances and donating her time to provide clearance reports and title searches on 14 Short Dramatic Films and 2 TV pilots over the past 3 years.
She travels in all the way from Kingston to support our filmmakers and productions and her enthusiasm is infectious, turning the very labour intensive matter of clearances into a real pleasure. It’s obvious she really cares about the work, the CFC filmmakers, their vision and the productions, as she makes herself completely available so that our teams can get the clearances they need (and if they CAN’T get them) coming up with viable solutions that support the project creatively and legally!

GINGER MARTINI – Costume Designer and Key Hair & Makeup |
Ginger has volunteered on over 30 CFC Productions over the past 3 years including the Short Dramatic Films, the TV Teasers and our many, many production exercises. She’s worn different crew hats too; volunteering for us as both a costume designer and key hair & make up.
She has a great demeanor on set. She’s calm, collected and very resourceful – which is crucial when working with our tight budgets. She’s extremely reliable and always makes things work. She’s always more than willing to help on our shoots while juggling her very busy schedule….you see, she also has her own fashion line which she designs & manages; not to mention her other film & TV gigs.
These are just some of the reasons why our alumni keep hiring her long after they leave the CFC.

DAN WHITTON – Rental Coordinator PS Production Services |
A former CFC production volunteer himself, Dan has the very daunting task of coordinating all of the PS Production Services equipment rentals on CFC productions; including the Short Dramatic Films, TV pilots and our numerous production exercises, including the recently added Actors Conservatory.
He cares that our productions are running smoothly and really does go above and beyond his day to day duties to support us - like pulling gear off the shelves for us in an “emergency” situation on a Sunday afternoon. He makes the time to personally check in with the CFC production team, filmmakers or crew to make sure the productions and equipment are working smoothly; he’s unbelievably accommodating to all of our changes and last minute add ons – and NEVER gets impatient with us which is quite frankly a miracle if you consider that we do close to 90 productions per year, of which he’s probably involved in over 60!
