The Comedy Bootcamp for Film is presented by the 2011 Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab, a CFC Film program, in collaboration with Just For Laughs, and as such, all submissions to the Bootcamp will be reviewed as potential candidates for submission to the Lab (separate application and deadlines apply). Submissions will be evaluated by a committee made up of the Just For Laughs Comedy Conference Programming team and the Canadian Film Center Programming team and all final selections are at the complete discretion of this committee. All applicants to the Bootcamp will receive a discount on a pass to the JFL conference.

The Comedy Bootcamp for Film offers you – the aspiring and established comedy talent – high-level insights into the do’s & don’ts of developing great feature comedy projects, and helps 3 teams test their projects out on a panel of comedy experts who share feedback and advice on their comedy and marketplace potential - and even on the script itself. Only applicants who meet the eligibility requirements of the 2011 Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab are invited to apply to the Comedy Bootcamp for Film. Professionals who are considering applying to the Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab are strongly encouraged to enter this Comedy Bootcamp. It’s an opportunity to buff up your pitch, package and the script itself with expert feedback in time for the August 2011 Comedy Lab deadlines.

All applicants to the Comedy Bootcamp for Film initiative can book a 15-minute mini-meet with members of the Canadian Film Centre/Just For Laughs & Telefilm Canada selection committee, at the Just For Laughs Comedy Conference, to receive initial feedback on their application and project in order to strengthen their package to the 2011 Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab.
