Since 1997, CFC Media Lab has achieved the following:
- Over 100 interactive prototypes produced in a variety of platforms and genres
- 33% of graduates have created media start-up companies of more than three employees whose emphasis is on original interactive content development
- 20% have created their own consultancy services
- 41.6% are employed as key leaders in organizations such as CBC, CTV, TVO, Corus Entertainment, Lion’s Gate Entertainment, Marble Media, Organic, Critical Mass, Syncapse, ROM, OCAD, etc.
- 33% of interactive prototypes are currently in different stages of commercial development
- Poduced Canada’s first user-generated content site Great Canadian Story Engine which was also turned into a CBC radio broadcast during the millennial year
- $5 million dollars to create the Bell Globemedia Content Innovation Network, a partnership with the Banff Centre For the Arts and Institut National de L’Image et du Son to create a pan-national, bilingual incubator for new media projects and emerging companies
- Incubated over 30 companies through the Interactive Project Lab (IPL)
- Launched 25% of IPL projects into commercial success
- Invested over $500K in eight large-scale projects through the Telus Innovation Fund
- Produced North America’s First Dramatic Interactive Feature Film, Late Fragment, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is distributed by Mongrel Media
