Applicant:
- The concept rights holder is the applicant.
- Producers are eligible with projects they have optioned.
- Writer/creators may apply directly to the program, subject to the minimum application qualifications.
- Writing teams may apply to the program provided that relationship to the material and ownership are clearly outlined.
- If a producer is accepted with one or more projects, the writer/creators must be available to participate in certain aspects of the program.
The applicant or a team member must be an alumnus of any CFC program (i.e. a non-CFC producer can apply if the concept is written or created by a CFC alumnus – a CFC producer can apply with non-CFC created concepts). The CFC will not broker relationships in order to qualify writers or producers for this program.
The applicant may submit up to 3 concepts. If the applicant is accepted, the Program may select one or more of the submitted projects for the first phase.

The NBC Universal Content Creator Program is looking for:
- Network drama and comedy series
- Cable series, including comedy, dramedy and science fiction

A general guideline for content:
“not too dark – aiming for generally a broad audience, for relatable stories, looking at the human spirit with an emphasis on diversity” |
We are not looking for entertainment, documentary, reality, or kids/family concepts.
Application packages include:
- 2 to 5 page pitch documents for each series concept
- CVs for all members of the creative team
- Evidence of ownership of the concept (i.e. an Option Agreement if the Applicant is a Producer, Chain of Title)
- Application cover page

Minimum Qualifications:
All Applicants to the NBC Universal Content Creator Program must have a proven commitment to television production and are required to satisfy the following minimum qualifications:
- Producers must have ‘Producer’ credits on at least four hours of scripted television.
- Writer/creators must have at least ‘Executive Story Editor’ or higher credits on at least 6 hours of scripted television.
