Curriculum

The NBC Universal Content Creator Program delivers its curriculum over several phases.

PHASE I (up to 10 participants) is a three-day intensive series of workshops held at the CFC and led by industry professionals. Designed to give participants the tools and knowledge necessary to polish their pitch, these sessions focus on refining the creative and introducing production realities to the concept. PHASE I culminates in a face-to-face pitch with NBCU Executives.

PHASE II (up to 3 projects from PHASE I) is a one- to two-month part-time distance commitment that sees up to three participants work directly with a project-specific mentor to expand their pitch to a mini-bible. In this phase, participants address more specific concerns such as financing models, potential broadcasters in US and Canada, distribution opportunities, and creative packaging elements.

PHASE III is a discretionary phase in which one or more projects may be selected for formal pitching in Canada and the US – program participants would travel to LA for US pitches.

At the completion of any of the phases, NBC Universal may, at their sole discretion, enter into a formal development deal with one or more of the projects from Phase I or II or III.
