SLAIGHT MUSIC RESIDENCY APPLICATION INFORMATION
Overview of Eligibility, Nomination, and Selection Process:
ELIGIBILITY
Composers:
Nominators must ensure that potential Composer candidates have the following:
- Experience scoring at least two of the following: a feature, short film, commercial and/or television program (drama, documentary, lifestyle)
- Experience with Logic Pro
- A keen desire to collaborate with and create material for a variety of artists
- A demonstrated commitment to the music industry
Songwriters:
Nominators must ensure that potential Songwriters candidates have the following:
- Written at least two songs commercially exploited either in film or television or released by a record label or have a publishing contract
- Experience with Logic Pro
- A keen desire to collaborate with and create material for a variety of artists
- A demonstrated commitment to the music industry
NOMINATION & APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants must be nominated by an established songwriter, a Professional or Gold Member of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, established film/television/documentary director/producer/showrunner, music supervisor, music executive.
- The nominator must email the contact information of the Composer or Songwriter they are nominating to:

- The CFC will follow-up with the Composer or Songwriter via email and forward the application package
- A selection committee comprised of industry professionals from across Canada and key program staff is involved in the review process
- The CFC will set up in person interviews with short-listed applicants
Shortlisted applicants will be notified by phone of interview date and time
- An interview mark the final stage of the selection process and is intended to clarify each applicant’s expectations and assist the committee in determining which candidates will best contribute to and benefit from the program’s design
- If you are shortlisted, interviews will take place in July.
2013 FEES AND DATES Application Deadline: Friday, June 14, 2013 at 5pm EST Tuition: There is no tuition for the 2013 session Program Dates: September 30, 2013 – June 2014
